Original 10" X 15', transparent watercolor & gouache blend painting, by Luke Buck, My wife Coleen and I have spent many a trip from our home in Indiana to North Carolina, mainly doing one art event or another. For over 25 years we have had the honor of being invited back by Rick Mullen & Suzie to,

"Ashley's Art Gallery", in Fuquay/Varina, NC., for an annual solo show. In route, coming & going, we drive right past one of our favorite landmarks, "Pilot Mountain". I always stop to take more reference photos & have painted this mountain several times, each from a different angle or viewpoint, or size or shape, or season, and it always makes an interesting subject and composition to paint.
